Monroe PTA Executive Committee
President Angela Castillo

Hi! I’m Angela, and I’m excited to be serving as your PTA President! This is my fourth year serving on the Monroe PTA Board, and this year I’ll have three kiddos at Monroe—a 5th grader, 3rd grader, and kindergartener!
I joined PTA because I truly wanted to be part of the Monroe community in a different way. I love bringing people together, planning fun events, and helping make Monroe a welcoming and memorable place for our students, families, and staff. I’m looking forward to another great year!
Shopping is my guilty pleasure—Target runs are basically a hobby, and TJ Maxx and The Rack are always dangerous stops! I’m a big coffee lover, and Woods is one of my favorites. I actually love Seattle’s moody weather—which surprises people since I once lived in sunny SoCal! Leggings and a sweatshirt are my go-to outfit. Comfy is a lifestyle, not a choice!
Treasurer Grace Howell

Hi, I’m Grace—your transaction-tracking treasurer! I’m serving my fourth year on the PTA Executive Committee, but started as a general member, volunteering when I could. PTA has given me the opportunity to know more about what’s going on at Monroe and get to know the teachers and staff who support our students daily.
I’m a bit of a night owl and am always looking for book recommendations—pass yours along!
I want to help others find their place in the Monroe community while getting to know more of the amazing people in it! I’m excited about what we can do together this year!
Secretary Misha Pearce

Hi everyone! My name is Misha, and I’m excited to be joining the Monroe PTA Board. I’ve always enjoyed being involved in my kids’ school activities, and joining the PTA felt like a great way to take that involvement one step further and support the amazing work already being done at Monroe.
My daughter Logan is in 5th grade, and Archer is in 1st grade. Outside of school, our family loves playing board games (the strategy kind, not just Monopoly!), pen-and-paper RPGs, camping whenever we can snag a reservation, cheering on the Everett Silvertips (#TipsCountry), and traveling to dog shows with our Weimaraner.
A fun fact about our dog: although he’s only two years old, he has already earned a spot in the National Top 20 for his breed both years of his show career! When I’m not juggling family activities, I enjoy reading, building Technic LEGO sets, and planning our next adventure, whether that’s camping by the water or visiting a Disney park. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and helping make this a great year for our Monroe community!
VP Communications Brenda Bloczynski

Hi, I’m Brenda!
I’m excited to be serving my third year at Monroe, this time as VP of Communications. I have two boys, one in third grade and one in middle school.
I joined the PTA because I love being part of my kids’ education, getting a peek into their school world, supporting the amazing staff, and helping make a difference at Monroe.
I love sewing, painting with watercolors, and spending time with friends. I enjoy trying new restaurants and exploring different ethnic foods so if you ever want to go on a food adventure, I’m your gal!
VP Membership Aquila Brown

Hi, I am Aquila Brown. I am the 2026-2027 VP of membership. I have been a general member of the PTA in the past and look forward to working with the PTA in a greater capacity this year. I have a 1st and 3rd grader who attend Monroe. When I am not volunteering, you can usually find me cross stitching.
VP Volunteers Amy Colson

My name is Amy and I joined the PTA board last year because I wanted to be more involved with Monroe again. I have high schoolers that went here and now I have a third grader here. I love knowing what’s going on at Monroe and being a part of it, for my kid and my community.
A little bit about me-
I love to read and spend time with my family. I enjoy trying different treats and being outside. I also love playing Boggle!
